Sweet & Sour Meatballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. regular onion soup mix
    2 eggs
    1 (16 oz.) jar sauerkraut, drained and snipped (large dice)
    1 (8 oz.) can whole cranberry sauce
    3/4 c. chili sauce
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 lbs. lean ground beef
    3/4 c. water
    hot cooked rice
Preparation
    In mixing bowl combine onion mix and 1/2 c. water.
    Beat in eggs with fork.
    Add ground beef and mix well.
    Shape into 40 balls.
    Combine sauerkraut, cranberry sauce, chili sauce, 3/4 c. water and brown sugar.
    Pour half of this mixture into bottom of 9 X 13 glass baking dish.
    Set rest aside.
    In a hot skillet brown meatballs.
    Arrange balls atop sauerkraut in dish.
    Pour remaining sauerkraut mix over the top.
    Cover with foil and bake 20 minutes at 325\u00b0.
    Uncover and bake 20 minutes longer.
    Serve hot over cooked rice.
    10 to 12 servings.
