Alphabet Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. sirloin tip roast
    salt
    1 medium onion, cut in half
    5 to 6 carrots
    1 tsp. parsley flakes
    1 large can Coll. Inn chicken broth and 1/2 can water, rinse can
    water
    1 can tomatoes plus 1 can water
    celery leaves and a little stalk
Preparation
    Place roast in large pan.
    Cover with water and salt a little. When it begins to start boiling, spoon scum from top.
    Continue to simmer meat for 1 1/2 hours.
    Cover pan loosely so steam can escape.
    Add tomatoes, water, onion, carrots, celery parts, parsley, broth and water.
    Cook for another hour or until meat is tender.
    Remove meat and carrots.
    Strain broth.
    Add cooked alphabets and meat, broken up.
