Aunt Mary'S Banana-Chocolate Chip Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 bananas, mashed (about 3/4 c.)
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, cream sugar and shortening.
    Beat in eggs, vanilla and bananas until thoroughly blended.
    Combine flour, soda and salt.
    Add to creamed mixture and stir just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
    Spoon into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 to 70 minutes or until bread tests done with a wooden pick.
    Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
    May freeze slices in bags or wrapped in foil.
    Yield:
    1 loaf.
