Christmas Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter (not oleo)
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 qt. chopped nuts or less
1 c. red and green candied cherries, chopped
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time and beat after each addition.
Add lemon rind, juice and vanilla. Mix well.
Mix 1/4 cup flour with nuts and cherries.
Sift the remaining flour with baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
Fold in nuts and cherries.
Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 50 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool completely.
Freezes well.
