Jelly Centers - Thumbprints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    red jelly (i.e., cherry)
    1 egg
    1 lb. butter
Preparation
    Mix ingredients and rest dough for one hour.
    Pinch off dough and form small ball.
    Lay on cookie sheet and depress center with your thumb.
    Bake until half done at 375\u00b0, about 5 to 10 minutes, then add a dab of jelly to center.
    Finish baking.
