Apple Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. cooking oil
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs, well beaten
    juice of 1 lemon
    1 tsp. salt
    3 c. plain flour
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. chopped dates
    2 c. chopped pecans
    3 c. chopped apples
Preparation
    Combine first six ingredients, beating well.
    Add soda to flour and add to first mixture.
    Beat well.
    Add apples, dates and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Batter will be very thick.
    You may have to mix with your hands.
    Spoon into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
