Mom'S Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large chopped onions
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    2 green bell peppers, chopped
    1 large pack of lean ground beef
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
Preparation
    In large skillet, saute onions and green peppers in shortening until onions are yellow. Add ground beef, saute until mixture breaks into little pieces. Add tomatoes, rice and seasoning. Place in casserole dish & cover tightly. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until rice is done.
