Old Fashioned Egg Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs, beaten
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
    ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Combine eggs and sugar; beating well.
    Add salt, vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg.
    Gradually add scalded milk, stirring constantly.
    Pour mixture into pie shell; sprinkle with additional nutmeg.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Reduce oven temperature to 325\u00b0 and bake an additional 25 minutes, or until a knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.
    Cool thoroughly before serving.
