Stir-Fry Green Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, cut across the grain into thin slices
    1/4 c. oil
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 c. green onions, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. green pepper, cut into 1-inch sq.
    1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    1 (4 oz.) jar sliced pimentos or 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
    2 c. cooked rice
Preparation
    Cut beef into 1/8-inch pieces.
    Combine soy sauce, garlic and ginger.
    Add beef.
    Toss and set aside while preparing vegetables. Heat oil in large frying pan or wok.
    Add beef and toss until browned.
    Taste meat.
    If not tender, cover and cook 30 minutes on low heat.
    Turn to medium heat.
    Add vegetables.
    Cook 20 minutes. Mix water with cornstarch.
    Add to pan.
    Stir and cook until thick.
    Add tomatoes or pimentos and heat.
    Serve over cooked rice.
    Serves 4.
