Normandy Pork Chops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 pork loin chops
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    5 medium carrots
    2 stalks celery, cut
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1 1/2 c. stock
    1/2 c. red wine or cider
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    1 bay leaf
    3 medium apples
    1 c. quartered mushrooms
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
Preparation
    Brown chops on both sides in hot oil, about 2 minutes for each side.
    Place in ovenproof dish with lid; keep warm.
