Kiss Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (10 oz.) container pitted dates (cut up in pieces)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. hot water
    1/2 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. Hershey's chocolate Kisses (whole)
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Cream together the butter or margarine, vanilla, sugar and salt.
    To creamed mixture, add eggs, date mixture, flour and chopped walnuts.
    Mix and stir in Hershey's Kisses.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 in greased and floured tube pan or Bundt pan.
    Cake will not rise in pan.
    Cool.
