Fruit Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 stick oleo or butter
    2 c. light brown sugar
    1 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs, beaten well
    1/2 lb. candied cherries (red and green)
    1/2 lb. candied chopped pineapple
Preparation
    Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan with butter (oleo) and flour.
    Spread chopped pecans on bottom of pan.
    Melt 1 stick oleo in a double boiler; add light brown sugar.
    Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
    Add 1 cup flour, salt and vanilla.
    Add beaten eggs; beat well.
    Pour over pecans in pan.
    Mix candied fruit; put evenly on top of other mixture.
    Bake 1 hour at 325\u00b0; you might need 10 minutes more.
    Let cool before cutting.
