Pork Chops With Spiced Apple Wedge - cooking recipe

8 pork chops, about 3/4 inches thick
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil or shortening
1 C. apple juice or cider
1/2 C. raisins
1 Tbsp. salt
1/2 C. brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
3 medium sized red apples, each cut into 6 to 8 wedges
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Over medium heat, brown chops on both sides in oil in a large skillet. Remove from heat and arrange pork chops in a shallow 2 quart baking dish. Return skillet to heat and stir in 1/2 cup of juice, stirring to deglaze pan. Stir in raisins and salt and pour over browned chops.
