Chocolate Crusted Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted all purpose flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening.
    Combine cold water and vanilla and sprinkle over mixture, stirring with fork until dough is moist enough to hold together.
    Form into a ball. Roll out on floured surface to a circle 1 1/2 inches larger than inverted 9-inch pie pan. Fit loosely into pan. Fold edge to form a standing rim; flute. Prick generously. Place \"trimmings\" in second pan.
    Bake pie shell and trimmings at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool.
    Crumble trimmings for crumb topping.
