Linguine With Spicy Clam Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium red onion
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    4 garlic cloves, minced or crushed
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. chicken broth
    1 tsp. red pepper
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. linguine
    2 (6 oz.) cans chopped clams, drained
    1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
    Meanwhile, thinly slice the onion and put aside.
    In a large skillet, melt the butter in the oil over medium heat.
    Add the garlic and onion and saute until the onion is translucent and beginning to brown slightly. Add the flour and cook, stirring, until the flour is no longer visible.
    Add the broth, red pepper flakes, black pepper and salt. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.
