Candy Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    2/3 c. Karo syrup
Preparation
    Stir over low heat in medium saucepan until well blended. Cook without stirring until turns pale yellow like caramel.
    Test in cold water.
    Drop in.
    Candy should form a stiff ball.
    When ready, add red food coloring and 1 small bag cinnamon hearts. Stir until melted.
    Dip washed apples with sticks in them.
    Cool on buttered wax paper.
