Mom'S Shrimp Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. cleaned raw shrimp
    1/4 c. oil
    2 thinly sliced onions
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 chopped green pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes
    1 bay leaf (throw away after sauce is made)
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    cooked rice
Preparation
    Put shrimp in kettle of boiling water.
    Simmer 5 minutes. Drain.
    Saute onions, pepper and celery in oil until tender.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer 45 minutes.
    Add shrimp; heat thoroughly and serve over rice.
