Chocolate Sparkles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. softened butter or margarine
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 2/3 c. flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Beat butter and 1 1/4 cups sugar until creamy.
    Beat in eggs; add melted chocolate and vanilla.
    Mix flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
    Stir into chocolate mixture; blend well.
    Chill dough. Shape dough into balls.
    Roll balls in 1/4 cup sugar and place about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Remove from baking sheet while warm.
    Yields 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
