Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck apples
    6 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    8 c. water
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. cornstarch
Preparation
    Quarter or cube enough firm apples for 7 quarts.
    Pack loosely in jars.
    Mix ingredients and pour over apples.
    Seal and boil in water bath for 20 minutes.
    When needed, pour in prepared pie shells and bake.
