Chili With Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
5 c. stewed or canned tomatoes, cut in chunks
1 small onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. original blend Mrs. Dash
2 Tbsp. paprika
2 c. water
12 oz. Pace picante sauce (mild)
garlic powder and chili powder (to your liking; about 1 Tbsp. each)
Preparation
-
Quick soak beans in 5-quart pan.
Bring water to boil; add beans, then boil for 5 to 7 minutes.
Allow beans to soak for 1 hour; wash.
Then crumble ground beef (uncooked) into crock-pot. Add all other ingredients; stir slowly.
Set crock-pot on medium-high.
Cook for 3 to 4 hours.
Chili is done when beans are tender; the longer it cooks, the better it tastes.
Serve with grated Cheddar cheese, extra chopped onions and cornbread.
