Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 egg yolks
    3 egg whites
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 small can Baker's coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream together margarine, Crisco, sugar and vanilla.
    Add egg yolks, 1 at a time, and beat well after each addition.
    Sift together sifted flour and baking soda.
    Add alternately with 1 cup of buttermilk.
    Fold in 3 egg whites (stiffly beaten).
    Stir in coconut and chopped nuts.
    Pour into 3 well-greased 9-inch cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until well done and brown. Cool before frosting.
