Pecan Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 lb. pecans
    1 lb. chopped dates
    1 c. candied fruit, chopped (cherries or pineapple or both to make 1 c.)
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Sift flour and sugar together.
    Mix nuts and fruit.
    Beat eggs, vanilla and salt; add flour mixture.
    Pour over fruit and nut mixture; work with hands until thoroughly blended.
    Bake in loaf pan lined with wax paper.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours. Remove wax paper immediately after baking.
