Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place the first 3 ingredients in a heavy skillet and cook slowly to the thread stage at 230\u00b0.
    Add peanuts.
    Stir and cook these ingredients just beyond the hard crack stage, 301\u00b0 to 302\u00b0. Remove from heat.
    Stir in the butter, soda and vanilla until blended.
    Pour the brittle onto a greased surface.
    Turn it at once and stretch until thin.
    When cold, break into pieces.
