3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. Crisco

Measure into sifter flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Measure into a cup the milk and vanilla.
Measure into large bowl the
Crisco.
Have ready 5 egg whites, beaten to a meringue with 1/2 cup sugar.
