Buffet Surprise - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. chuck roast
    2 to 3 cans sauerkraut, drained
    1 c. dark brown sugar
    1 large can tomatoes, undrained
    1 whole onion, peeled
    1 apple, cut in slices
    fresh ground pepper
Preparation
    Place meat in 4-quart pot.
    Dump drained kraut on top of meat. Next, put sugar in pot.
    On top, pour tomatoes.
    Put onion and apple slices in the pot.
    Grind pepper over everything.
    Cover pot and simmer until meat falls apart, usually about 4 hours.
