Zucchini Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    zucchini, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
    1 gal. water
    1 c. lime
    10 c. sugar
    5 c. distilled vinegar
    green food coloring (15 to 25 drops)
    1 Tbsp. pickling spices (in bag)
Preparation
    Peel and cut into 1-inch cubes enough zucchini to make a gallon.
    Let stand in 1 gallon water with 1 cup lime added for 24 hours.
    Rinse four to five times.
    Mix sugar, vinegar and pickling spices.
    Pour over rinsed zucchini and let stand 24 hours.
    Then add food coloring and simmer for 30 minutes.
    Pack in sterilized jars and seal.
