Chicken Or Pork Adobo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean pork or 1 lb. chicken
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1/2 c. vinegar
    8 peppercorns
    1 bay leaf, crushed
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Cut pork or chicken into serving pieces.
    Combine meat with all the ingredients and simmer until meat is done and sauce is thick.
    Serve warm and with pickles for accompaniment.
