Egg Nog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 large eggs, well beaten
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 small tub whipped cream
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Stir together eggs, milk and sugar in a large saucepan (heavy pan).
    Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until mixture coats a metal spoon.
    Remove from heat and place in a bowl of ice water, stirring
    1 to 2 minutes.
    Stir in vanilla and chill in refrigerator from 4 to 24 hours (depending when you need it).
    At serving time, transfer chilled mixture to a punch bowl.
    Fold in whipped cream and sprinkle nutmeg over entire top.
    This is a great holiday drink that can be prepared well ahead of time.
