Marbled Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. coarsely chopped nuts (walnuts)
    2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled or 2 envelopes no-melt chocolate
Preparation
    Cream the first three ingredients together until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
    Add flour and salt.
    Mix until blended.
    Stir in nuts.
    Divide batter in half and add chocolate to one-half.
    Drop batter alternately by heaping teaspoonfuls into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Press down with spoon to smooth top, then run knife through batter several times to marbleize.
    Bake in a moderate oven about 45 minutes.
    When cooled, spread with frosting.
    Makes approximately 24 (2-inch) squares.
