Ingredients

1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 lb. butter
2 heaping Tbsp. poppy seed
dash of salt
1 long loaf French bread
1 (12 oz.) pkg. Swiss cheese slices
Preparation

Saute onion in butter.
Add poppy seed and salt.
Cut French bread in 2-inch slices, taking care not to cut all the way through.
In each cut, place a slice of Swiss cheese.
Spoon onion mixture into each cut.
Wrap securely in foil.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
Serves 8.
