Homemade Pimentos - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    large, fresh red sweet peppers
    chili powder
    lemon juice
Preparation
    In August, locate large red sweet peppers at local vegetable stand or outlet, 6 for $2.00.
    Sliver and put into heavy kettle. Add chili powder and lemon juice according to taste and water to cover, plus 1 inch.
    Cover and slowly simmer for 24 hours.
    Cool and put in pint jars.
    Refrigerate if not tightly sealed.
    You'll have enough to last the winter.
