Caramel Crunch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. corn syrup
    1/4 c. water
    1/8 tsp. salt
    4 qt. plain popped corn
    1 c. dry roasted peanuts
Preparation
    Combine
    butter,
    sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in 2 quart saucepan.
    Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugars
    are dissolved.
    Using a candy thermometer, cook syrup
    to hard
    ball\tstage (250\u00b0).
    Pour syrup over combined popcorn
    and peanuts
    in a large bowl or Dutch oven.
    Stir to coat
    evenly using
    a
    long
    handled spoon as mixture is hot. Allow to cool and break into clusters.
    Makes 4 quarts.
