Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. thick milk (buttermilk)
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 qt. cherries (if canned, drain off some juice)
Preparation
    Mix together ingredients.
    Add cherries (or other fruit) last.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes until done.
    Use 9-inch cake pan, greased.
