Seven Cup Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter
    1/4 c. Crisco
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 c. bread cubes, packed solid
    1 c. apples, chopped
    1 c. dates, chopped
    1 c. nuts, chopped
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
    Press mixture into clean coffee tins.
    (Use the 13 ounce size tins; you will need two.) Cover with aluminum foil.
    Steam by placing tins in water approximately halfway up the sides and heat to 300\u00b0.
    Steam for 3 hours.
