Lazy Daisies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 unbeaten egg
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cream the butter, gradually adding sugar and creaming well. Blend in egg, lemon rind and juice. Add dry ingredients and blend well.
    Chill for easier handling. Shape by teaspoon into balls.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Snip balls in half, 3/4 way through, using lightly floured scissors.
    Snip each half into thirds.
    Lay the 6 petals down on sheet.
    Decorate centers with candied cherry halves. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Makes 36 cookies.
