Frozen Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    3 qt. water
    1 large pineapple juice
    1 large Hi-C orange drink
    4 oz. lemon juice
    1 small can crushed pineapple or can use large can
    1 jar maraschino cherries, chopped fine
    3 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Boil first 2 ingredients until syrupy.
    Add remaining ingredients, except ginger ale, and mix well.
    Pour into 2 plastic gallon jugs.
    Freeze.
    Thaw 2 1/2 hours before serving.
    Add 1 1/2 quarts ginger ale to each slightly thawed gallon of frozen mixture.
    Mixture should be slushy.
