Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh squash
    1/2 lb. onion
    1/2 stick margarine
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1/2 c. grated cheese
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    Cook squash and onion until tender; drain.
    Add margarine and mash.
    Mix rest of ingredients to squash mix and pour into casserole dish.
    Top with bread crumbs, if desired, and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
