Easy Hamburger Veggie Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. very lean hamburger or ground sirloin
1 large onion, chopped
1 c. pearl barley
1 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
1 tsp. garlic granules
1 tsp. thyme
2 cans stewed tomatoes or equal amount V-8 juice
1 tsp. sugar (omit if you eliminate tomatoes)
1 can sliced carrots
1 can butter beans or green lima beans
1 can Great Northern beans or green beans
1 c. frozen corn
2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 cans chicken broth or pkg. chicken and/or vegetable broth
1 c. frozen peas
1 c. noodles or pasta of your choice (optional)
Preparation

Brown hamburger and onion in large, heavy stainless steel pot until meat is no longer pink and onion is clear.
Add to meat mixture and stir the pearl barley, ground black pepper, garlic granules and thyme.
Add stewed tomatoes, sugar, carrots, butter beans or green lima beans, Great Northern beans or green beans, frozen corn, potatoes and chicken broth.
When these ingredients are cooked until tender, add frozen peas and noodles or pasta.
