Apple-Pecan Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. dark brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
1 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. baking powder
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
grated rind of 1/2 lemon
2 c. finely chopped apples
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Dissolve soda in 1 tablespoon warm water.
Cream shortening, dark brown and granulated sugar.
Add unbeaten egg.
Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with milk and soda.
Fold in chopped apple.
Top batter with light brown sugar and pecans. Bake 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
