Cherry Winks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chopped dates
    1/3 c. cherries, chopped and drained (need extra for top of cookies)
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. crushed corn flakes
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, milk and vanilla to creamed mixture.
    Beat well.
    Blend in dry ingredients gradually. Mix in thoroughly the pecans, dates and cherries.
    Drop by teaspoon into crushed corn flakes, coating all around.
    Press 1/4 of a cherry on top and bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes on greased cookie sheet.
