Oyster Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 small white onion
    1 pt. oysters
    1 1/2 pt. milk
    parsley
    celery or celery seed
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Make a roux as follows:
    Melt the butter or oleo; add flour and onion, chopped fine, and 8 oysters, drained of their liquor and chopped in small bits.
    Brown all, stirring constantly to avoid burning, then add the oyster liquor and an equal amount of water. Add a few stalks of chopped celery (this gives it a good flavor). Season with pepper and salt.
    Let simmer slowly for 15 or 20 minutes.
