Catsup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 bushel tomatoes, washed and cut up
    1/2 c. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. pickling spices
    2 large diced onions
    1/2 c. salt
Preparation
    Put tomatoes in
    3-gallon
    stone jar.
    Put 1/2 cup salt on top of tomatoes.
    Cover
    with tea towel.
    Let stand 3 days. Drain all liquid off, cook 10 minutes and run tomatoes through a colander. Pour tomato juice in pan.
    Add vinegar and sugar. Put pickling spices and onions
    in
    a
    cloth
    bag and put into tomatoes.
    Cook until thick.
    Seal\tin pint jars.
    Makes 6 1/2 pints.
