Baked Acorn Squash With Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium acorn squash (3 1/2 lb.)
    salt
    1 (20 oz.) can sliced apples, packed in water
    3/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
    dash of ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan. Wash squash; cut in half and scoop out seeds and membrane.
    Place squash, cut side down, in pan.
    Add 1/2 cup water to pan.
    Cover tightly with foil and bake 45 minutes or until tender.
    (Done when fork can pierce skin and flesh easily.)
