Italian Meatballs With Herb Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 c. finely chopped onions
    1/2 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 tsp. basil
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 c. hot beef broth (bouillon)
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    3 c. hot cooked rice
Preparation
    Combine meat, onions, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and egg; mix thoroughly.
    Form into 12 (1 1/2-inch) balls.
    Brown on all sides in oil.
    Drain off fat.
    Combine remaining ingredients except cornstarch and rice; blend until smooth over low heat in a small saucepan.
    Pour over meatballs; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
    Stir 2 tablespoons water with cornstarch.
    Pour into sauce; cook about 1 minute or until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Serve over beds of fluffy rice.
    Serves 6.
