Basic Pastry - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    dash of salt
    1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 to 3 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Combine flour and salt in mixing bowl.
    Cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
    Sprinkle water evenly over flour mixture.
    Stir with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened.
    (Do not overmix.) Form into ball.
    May be refrigerated until ready for use.
    Makes 9-inch pie.
