Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    yellow cake mix
    2 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
    1 (3 oz.) box strawberry gelatin
    1 qt. strawberries, sliced
    2 to 2 1/2 oz. box instant French vanilla pudding mix
    1 large can (20 oz.) pineapple, drained
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. pecan chips
Preparation
    Bake cake as directed in 2 layers.
    In saucepan, bring 2 cups water and 1 cup sugar to a boil.
    Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup water and add to boiling mix, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and add gelatin, stirring until dissolved.
    Add berries, reserving 4 or 5 berries.
    When cake is cool, prepared pudding as directed on package.
