Ingredients

1/2 c. soft shortening (half butter)
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, peanut butter, sugars and egg.
Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Chill dough.
Roll into ball size of large walnuts. Place 3-inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
Flatten with fork dipped in flour, crisscross.
Bake until set, but not hard at 375\u00b0.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes about 3 dozen 2 1/2-inch.
