Mountain Spoon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. hot water
1 c. cornmeal
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation

Mix 1 cup hot water to 1 cup cornmeal.
Stir well.
Add shortening, salt and sugar.
Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to mixture.
Add eggs last.
Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Spoon hot from pan to serve.
