Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. cornmeal (yellow or white)
1 or 2 Tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
Preparation

Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
Place cast-iron skillet in preheating oven with bacon drippings.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add liquid ingredients; blend until smooth.
Remove hot skillet from oven.
Be sure that sides of skillet are covered with bacon drippings.
Pour batter into skillet and return to oven.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick is clean.
Remove from oven. Serve immediately.
