Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 medium tomatoes (ripe)
    1 bell pepper, chopped fine
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 c. vinegar
    1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. grated nutmeg
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Peel and dice tomatoes.
    Put in a large kettle with all ingredients and mix well.
    Heat and stir to boiling point, then cook slowly for 2 1/2 hours.
    It will cook down.
    Very good when you make it for Sloppy Joes.
    Also good in bean soup.
    Put in pint jars while hot and seal (open kettle type).
